He hopes to bring Porchlight to several new communities (and countries) in the coming months!

Andrew Pope, Director of Communications
Andrew is in charge of developing and implementing One Change’s communications strategy. This includes media relations, community engagement, and marketing. Andrew works to engage Canadians in our message, that environmentally conscious behaviour is a practical and achievable goal. Originally from Montreal, he’s happily married to Sarah and father to three teenagers.

Regional Campaign Managers

British Columbia: Jane Baker
Jane Baker is thrilled to be part of a fun and exciting campaign in northeast British Columbia. Jane’s background is in the helping profession, working in marketing in the health food industry, so her work with Project Porchlight builds on this by promoting a simple change that saves money, energy, and by helping the environment contributes to the health of everyone and the health of the earth. Giving someone a free energy-efficient light bulb, helping them save on electricity costs and contributing to the wellness of the environment is an act of random kindness.

Alberta: Scott Payne
Scott organizes the human resources side of delivering compact fluorescent light bulbs to Alberta households. Scott believes that change must be accessible to everyone, not just a select few, so he’s thrilled to be working on a campaign in an organization with people that so genuinely embody this principle in action. Change IS within reach!

Saskatchewan: Patricia Crowe
Patricia exhibits personal initiative to enable others to be successful with this opportunity. A Metis woman from Northern Saskatchewan, Patricia has journeyed throughout our province and has walked in many worlds. Her extensive experience includes working with provincial, federal and municipal governments. She has worked and volunteered with various non-profits and has a natural ability in planning, organizing and communications. With two daughters and a granddaughter, Patricia is highly aware of how her personal initiatives impact her family and community. “When it comes to making good decisions; the easy ones are because it is the right thing to do,” says Patricia.

Ontario: Martin Canning
A veteran campaigner, Martin is thrilled to be putting his years of activism and passion for sustainable development toward making Project Porchlight an international success. Working closely with campaign teams across Canada and the United States, he travels the continent building relationships with a multifaceted network of stakeholders, while helping manage One Change’s campaign portfolio. “One Change has offered me an awesome opportunity to reconcile my interests in campaign management with my passion for the environment,” says Martin. “Every day I get to wake up and go to work with people that are extremely positive about the future. I love this job!”

Vermont: Lisa Hatina

New Jersey: Sheila Foreman

Ottawa Headquarters Staff

Manon Crôteau, Manager of Communications and Outreach
Manon works closely with the communications and campaign teams to manage and implement One Change’s communications strategies. Her daily work spans from community outreach and engagement, to marketing and media relations. Manon is eager to send our message that all Canadians have the power to make one change, and that one change does make a difference—for each household in every community and for the environment.

Karen Fox, Administrative Assistant - Finance
Karen doesn’t know what she wants to grow up to be. Right now, she’s into finance, learning the ways of the force and general ledgers. A happy transplant from the US, she feels she’s found a second home at One Change.

Lisa Hatina, Development and Evaluation Manager
Lisa has been with One Change since September 2006 making her the longest standing employee of the organization (other than Stuart of course). Lisa applies her education in environmental conservation and six years of experience in research, public education and project management to solving problems she believes are as social as they are environmental. Handling the development of structure, content and objectives of new programs and how their impact is measured, Lisa has experienced first hand how our grassroots campaigns can be tailored to communities across Canada and the US.

Andrea Thomas, Executive Assistant
Andrea is happy to be the Executive Assistant to executive geniuses Stuart Hickox and John Mulvihill. She brings over nine years of experience as an administrator and executive assistant to One Change, and has worked in many industries from law to health care. It’s her experience in a diverse array of fields and growing up as a Maritimer that made her realize working may as well be fun and for a worthy cause.

Dan Walker, Systems Administrator
Dan has done a little bit of everything over the years at Porchlight, first as a volunteer assisting with bulb deliveries and at events in his Ottawa South neighbourhood, and developing early versions of the Project Porchlight website. He led a team of delivery staff on the Ottawa city-wide campaign and consulted on online marketing strategies, technical matters and publishing our monthly eNews mailout. In his new role as systems administrator, Dan is now responsible for our computer hardware, software, networking, online services and pretty much anything with wires sticking out of it. Dan was also a member of the One Change Board of Directors from 2006 to 2008.

Jason Bourdeau, Database and Logistics Coordinator
Jason has seen almost all the areas of the Porchlight skeletal structure, staring as a Field Rep in the ’06 Ottawa campaign and coming back in late ’07 to assist with volunteer coordination and delivery. Bringing him to where he is now- managing the Porchlight database, crunching numbers with the Count and always wondering what the ‘Number of the Day’ will be.

Catriona Fawns, Receptionist
Catriona has been around the block, with over 25 years of work experience, and more years of life experience than she wishes to admit. Project Porchlight is lucky enough to benefit from her deep expertise in reception, clerical, administration and maintaining a high regard for diplomacy and discretion which keeps the organization moving forward. In fact, Catriona has received awards for her attitude and enthusiasm and has no trouble being a team player and stepping up to the plate to help get the job done. On a personal note, Catriona is a dog lover, but that affection does not extend to cats, who insist on mis-using her garden. The battle continues…

Lee-Ann Hall, Graphic Designer
With twelve years of agency experience under her belt, Lee Ann has earned her title as Project Porchlight’s resident graphic design guru! She met One Change executive director Stuart Hickox in a past life, when they worked together at the communication and design agency where the Project Porchlight concept, logo and slogan Change Within Reach was born. From pilot project to campaign to the establishment of a not-for-profit organization, Lee Ann has created, evolved and established the look for Project Porchlight. She conceptualizes and designs new materials as One Change’s campaigns continue to develop and grow.

Jose Palacios, Data Entry Clerk
Jose will be updating data coming in from the New Jersey campaign and is very grateful to be working for a progressive organization like One Change. Jose was born in Lima, Peru and his other stomping grounds include Houston, Texas and Montreal, Quebec. He has a Political Science background and hopes to make a difference in the Ottawa community. Jose enjoys music, a lot and still buys records.

Karen Powell, Payroll and Accounting
Karen started her career as a customer service agent for Ontario Hydro and was there to see the first CFL bulbs promoted; over the next 10 years, she encouraged customers to reduce, conserve and rejoice in lowering their hydro bills. She’s pleased to be involved with the finance team at One Change and to be part of the ‘new’ push towards environmental change and conservation. Her payroll, administration and accounting experience will help One Change maintain its solid foundation that will, in turn, continue to support the terrific initiatives the creative crew comes up with day in and day out.

Natalia Snajdr, Campaigns Organizer
Natalia has worked on the Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan campaigns, and this has given her the opportunity to travel across Canada spreading the One Change message. She finds the work fulfilling, believing strongly in fusing a career with causes for which she cares. Originally from Northern Ontario, Natalia has an academic background in both Business and Environmental Sciences. She was transplanted to Ottawa to pursue some time in the land of politics, which has enabled her to pursue other ethical goals, such as bringing Fair Trade coffee to Canada’s Parliament. In what little spare time she has, Natalia loves windsurfing, skiing and designing.

Josh Snider, Communications Coordinator
Josh helps to implement Project Porchlight’s strategic communications plan and coordinates public outreach activities for our campaigns. He comes to us with experience coordinating major national campaigns and is excited to join the vibrant One Change team. When he’s not saving the planet, Josh enjoys canoeing, playing sports, and volunteering for grassroots community groups.

John Wade, Database and Logistics Coordinator

Carolyn Wright, Finance Clerk
Carolyn brings to the company’s finance department her years of banking and bookkeeping skills. An excellent negotiator, a great listener, added to being easy going and friendly, she is a delight and great addition to the staff at One Change.
